Week 66: The Gathering Of Israel

Image
Hey everyone! Quite simply just an awesome week. Tambien go here ,  very high quality content https://photos.app.goo.gl/ 5KEvxqXq2WYzZR9a9 Our friend Revenelle got baptized this week! Honestly one of my favorite people in Canada. She was a member referral from about 3 months ago (here's your daily reminder to do some member missionary work) and she had to fight off so many attacks from Satan to get baptized! But she trusted in the promise we gave her that reading the book of Mormon would bring peace and joy. She was very emotional during her baptism and confirmation. It was such an eye-opener for me, cause as a missionary you feel the spirit so much. But once she received the gift of the Holy Ghost, she felt the difference. Very humbling. Sitting in sacrament meeting on sunday looking at our congregation, I gained a newfound testimony of the gathering of Israel. As a missionary, i've talked to and taught people from 70+ countries! We also have an incredibly diverse congregation...

Week 65: La Mano Del Señor

I am alive! Kind of a crazy preparation day but I'll give y'all the readers digest verson: -discovered a friend we are teaching is the pastor of a group of Congolese Christians. -exchanges w/ Elder Christiensen (un perro) -had 3 zone conferences this week. -Revenelle is ready for her baptism this Saturday! I love my mission, and I love you all! This is a scripture i used like 30 times this week: 2 Nephi 29:8- Wherefore murmur ye, because that ye shall receive more of my word? Know ye not that the testimony of two nations is a witness unto you that I am God, that I remember one nation like unto another? Wherefore, I speak the same words unto one nation like unto another. And when the two nations shall run together the testimony of the two nations shall run together also. Read & share the Book of Mormon! It can change people's lives. Chao, Elder  curtis

The title says it all. We had 2 zone conferences literally 600km apart this week. (Look up red deer and grande prairie AB) Me and Elder Arnold went road trippin. We laughed, we cried, annnnnd I drove most of the way while he slept. Gave me a lot of time to think, ponder, etc, on life y el evangelio. Which was nice bc as a missionary those times are in fact exceedingly rare. Left on Tuesday morning and got back on Friday night. The two zone conferences were awesome. They were a titch nerve-wracking bc I've never conducted a zone conference before haha but it was chill.  We taught on how to give the book of Mormon more effectively, if you'd like to learn the secrets hmu. but naw president liked it the missionaries liked it very positive responses all around.  BTW got to go back to Grande Prairie whaaaaaat it was awesome! Got to say hi to some spanish homies who are low key struggling but oh well. Ik God's got a plan, tengo que confiar,  Then our friend revenelle got ma...

Happy Birthday To The Prophet!

Hello y'all!  So a week ago today we were walking by an old friends house and we meet these two guys from Ghana. For those of you who are serving/living in places in the world that don't have many people from Africa, let me tell you something. People from Ghana are the best! I think of the people from Ghana I've met on my mission, I've been able to teach about 70-80% of them. And these two brothas (Samuel and Kingsley are their names) are no exception. So we start chatting about Jesus and about all the things he did (John 21 last verse is the best) and I ask one of my favorite questions: "How would it bless your life to  have another book about Jesus Christ in your life?" And so Kingsley says yea that would bless my life a lot! In fact, he said that back in Ghana he had a blue book with gold letters that was another testament of Jesus christ! But he couldn't remember the name. So I reach into my back pocket and show it to him and he goes crazy haha it was ...

Dios Nos Guiara

Buenaaas a todos. Man I hope yall are having a great day today. i know i am fs. This week was swell.  So I'm gonna start out with a mini miracle. We were finishing up stopping by our friends on Thursday, and I get a really weird impression to go down this alley. So I thought, alright fine les go. We walk over and start talking to a couple people but naw, not interested. Eventually we realize we are very close to a recent converts apartment and so we started to walk over there. Suddenly, I hear some people talking in a foreign language. This is very normal in Edmonton, but it sounded familiar. I realize that it's spanish, and I start looking around for Who’s speaking. I look up and lo and behold, there's a latina speaking with someone on the phone, on the balcony of a 3rd story apartment. I hit her with an "hola" and we start chatting.  Turns out she wants to come to church! Chillllll So yea. That's life! We have 2 ppl on date for 14th and 21st of September yay...
