Hop on it for lit flics:  https://photos.app.goo.gl/ 5KEvxqXq2WYzZR9a9 Que fue mis locitos  Well I think I say it every week but this time I really mean it haha the week was absolutely bonkers. Let's start at the top. So this tuesday I woke up and I felt absolutely awful. But we had a lesson with one of our progressing friends that day that we absolutely could not cancel (her name is Carolina) so I decided to tough it out. Well it got worse and worse and worse until we got to the lesson. Now I would like to be able to tell you all that a miracle happened during the lesson and I felt perfectly fine, but naw, sick to my stomach the whole time. Well we ended up putting her on date and we left the lesson, drove to get some lunch, and at the lunch place I proceeded to lose the contents of my stomach. Spend the rest of the day out of comisión. Now here comes Wednesday, TRANSFER NEWS! Get this: I'm leaving Lago Lindo. Pretty gosh darn sad actually, the branch members are sweet a...

Week 30: Find When You Teach, Teach When You Find

Image
What's crack a lackin my fine elders and sisters, it's been a swell week up here in the great white North. Here's some highlights: God blessed us with warmth, this week was a balmy -15 degrees. Weather is on the up and up again! We were blessed to find 15 new people to teach this week! Honestly there were some crazy miracles that happened. Best one was last night, we decided to stop by a referral named  Alexis. We go there, and he was so friendly, I'd only ever texted him like four times but I walked in the house and we hugged like we'd been friends for all of our lives. We start teaching the restoration, his girlfriend is there too, she's loving it, and then 4 other people walk through the door! It was his brother's that are all living with him! They were all super interested in hearing more, so that was sweet! Transfers are this week, I have no idea what's going to happen!! I'll let you all know what goes down. We've still got the Martinez fami...

Week 29: FREEZING

Image
One of the more crazy weeks of the Mission Quick meteorology lesson: way way up north, there is something called the polar votex (basically a big ol cold air mass) When it is being nice it stays in a nice neat circle and keeps all the cold air together. But sometimes it gets weird and wonky, and the air leaks down to where normal people live....... I woke up on Thursday morning and I crack open the balcony to feel the temperature. No joke I could not breathe. I go and check my phone: -29°C. Cold. Very very cold. Over the next couple of days, the whole province of Alberta slowly shut down. On Saturday, we reached a high of -36 and a low of -42. There was talk that we would have to stay inside, but thankfully we didn't have too. Did that stop us? No. We still workin, found 8 new friends to teach, and put Jahir and the Martinez family back on date. The Lord loves effort! Honestly kinda crazy. We haven't been able to meet with them since before Christmas. I didn't know if they ...

Week 28: Cold, Cool Miracles, More Cold

Image
Que fue mis hermanas y elderes Well gee wizz. I officially feel like I'm in Canada. People have been telling me that this winter has been light. Up until this week, highs have been in the 30s-40s. But I woke up on tuesday morning to a high of -17.  And this thursday it's gonna be -26. At noon. Needless to say, it's cold. How would I describe it? You go out, take a breath, and your whole entire chest feels like it's lined with icicles. But hey, it's honestly not that bad. With the cold comes snow, and I have learned snow is awesome. It kind of breaks the monotony. Edmonton is a pretty grey, dirty city, and the snow makes everything look sick. But that's enough about la clima. Me and Elder G been grindin, and we're getting close with two of our friends: Vicente and Jahir. Vicente is a literal Mexican Philosopher. He's a talker, that guy. But he's absolutely ripping through the Book of Mormon, we've given him 14 chapters to read over the last week a...

Week 27: 2024--->The Year Of Elder Curtis

Image
Welcome back everyone!I know this email is late, but it's been an insane past couple of weeks. Where do I start? Btw Google fotos hop on that thang  https://photos.app.goo.gl/ 5KEvxqXq2WYzZR9a9 Ig Christmas! It was kinda weird, I wasn't homesick or anything, it honestly just felt like we skipped the season this year. Word on the street is this year has been unseasonably warm, so much so that it's the first december in 100 years that there's been no snow. I appreciate all of your prayers to keep me warm, but maybe we could hold off for a little bit, I want some snow! But yeah, Christmas was chill, we popped out to some members houses. One of them started playing National Lampoon's Christmas vacation (shout out elder Schaub) and we had to get out of there haha. It was an interesting time of year, overall pretty darn good tho. I live with some awesome elders, so it was a great time. However, the work of Christmas week was slllllllooooooowwwwww as molasses! I'm just...
