Week 27: 2024--->The Year Of Elder Curtis
Welcome back everyone!I know this email is late, but it's been an insane past couple of weeks. Where do I start?
Btw Google fotos hop on that thang
Ig Christmas! It was kinda weird, I wasn't homesick or anything, it honestly just felt like we skipped the season this year. Word on the street is this year has been unseasonably warm, so much so that it's the first december in 100 years that there's been no snow. I appreciate all of your prayers to keep me warm, but maybe we could hold off for a little bit, I want some snow! But yeah, Christmas was chill, we popped out to some members houses. One of them started playing National Lampoon's Christmas vacation (shout out elder Schaub) and we had to get out of there haha. It was an interesting time of year, overall pretty darn good tho. I live with some awesome elders, so it was a great time.
However, the work of Christmas week was slllllllooooooowwwwww as molasses! I'm just out here trying to find all the latinos in this city but I think most of them went back to Mexico. Buuut had a crazy miracle:
Knocking on an I dot, they're from chilie, but they aren't interested. So I turn around and start walking away. Then, like two min later, the Spirit literally spake to me and said: "Go ask them if there are spanish people in the area." I was indecisive for 2 seconds, then I got out of the car and ran back. My dear ol compa started yelling at me, but you can't stop the spirit. I asked them, they pointed at a house, then we knocked and found my boy Ricardo from guanajuato. I'm tellin u all, THE CHURCH IS TRUE LISTEN TO THE SPIRIT.
Also awesome story: We are teaching my man Vicente from Mexico and we did the Restoration. It was sweet, we all felt the spirit, then had a wack impresión. I looked at Vicente and said k we're gonna do something weird. We're all gonna get on our knees and you're gonna ask God if this book is true. Then we're gonna get up and walk out without saying anything. Ok? While he was saying the prayer the Spirit was just knocking my socks off. Then we got up and walked out. Probably one of the most insane experiences of my life tbh. Absolutely wild.
What's funny is all other days of the week were pretty frustrating. Cancelled lessons, friends ghosting us, and missed goals were the day to day events. But God is good. "All these things shall give thee experience, and be for thy good." Even on the worst days, He is there, and He loves you. I'm so thankful for my mission, and for the best and worst days up here.
Happy 2024! (Year of Elder Curtis)
