Week 102: The End
Well this is it. My last email. Probably the weirdest sentence I've ever written haha
These last couple of weeks have been really good. We've been working hard as usual, and were able to set a baptismal date with our friend Nico! July 12th! I'm excited to see that one over zoom.
Cool miracle this week, we were stopping by our Columbian friends and we had a prompting to knock on the basement. We do and this guy answers, and he's a dominicano literally my favorite country other than Colombia, we go inside and teach him about the Book of Mormon and he loves it. We start playing the 3 Nefi 11 audio and he gets this scared look on his face. He tells us he's heard of the nephites in the Book of Enoch and he says they're fallen angels (me and my companion look at each other like wut) finally we explain a bit of the background of the name nephi and g calms down a bit. But miracles! Haha
Said goodbye to a lot of cool members. Honestly super sad but I'll see a lot of them again! Rio Vista on top fr fr.
Spiritual thought
This Thursday I'll be back in AZ. And my mission will be over. Like I said before, my mission has changed my life forever. I am eternally grateful for the chance to serve the people of Edmonton. I just wanted to finish with one of my new favorite scriptures, Ether 12:3:
For he did cry from the morning, even until the going down of the sun, exhorting the people to believe in God unto repentance lest they should be destroyed, saying unto them that by faith all things are fulfilled.
I have been studying those last couple words, "by faith all things are fufilled." When I first read it, I didn't understand what it meant. But now I think I do. When anything good happens in our life, it came to pass because of faith. When we have the strength to persevere through trials in our lives, it's because of faith. Only because of faith can someone leave their home for 2 years or 18 months. Now the question is faith in what? There's only one answer: Jesus Christ. I know He lives. I know He loves us. It has been the greatest honor of my life to serve Him here in Canada. I leave these things with you all in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.
