Week 87: Sowing And Reaping
Hey y'all! It's your favorite temporary Canadian. Funnily enough, Canadians are quite patriotic, and it's rubbing off on me. every time I see the big ol, I just want to start singing "oh canada"
It was a great week. Highlight was definitely when I got to take our friend Tatiana to the baptism of Ricky Spitzer! That's right he finally did it. The readers digest version of the story is when I got to the ward, I learned that he wasn't baptized, but the rest of his family was. I asked sister Spitzer (his wife) if I could come over and share a message with their family. She looked at me and said, "You can, but I know what you're trying to do. My husband is not interested in the gospel." I said ok. That first lesson was about prayer. Bro spitzer sat in on the lesson. At the end, I was prompted to invite brother spitzer to say the closing prayer. I was pretty scared especially because sister spitzer was right there staring daggers at me haha but he accepted! He finished the prayer and everyone in the house was crying. Unbeknownst to me that was the first prayer he had ever said. Since that lesson he accepted every invitation we gave him. His family was so happy at the baptism. I was so happy to see them.
It got me thinking of the law of the harvest. Seeds that we plant as missionaries are often harvested later. How much later? It depends. But one of the rules of the law if the harvest is that you will ALWAYS REAP MORE THAN YOU SOW. This is also true for just regular life as well. The good things you do to others are seeds that will be a bountiful harvest later on!
Matthew 13
8 But other [seeds] fell into good ground, and brought forth fruit, some an hundredfold, some sixtyfold, some thirtyfold.
9 Who hath ears to hear, let him hear.
What are you sowing today?
