Week 82: Zone Conferences

Image
Had a crazy week this week so I'm pretty tired and that's why this is so late. But yea had 3 zone conferences this week and they were great! Went on a bunch of exchanges and they were awesome too! I'm loving life.  Spiritual thought Ether 12:19 And there were many whose faith was so exceedingly strong, even before Christ came, who could not be kept from within the veil, but truly saw with their eyes the things which they had beheld with an eye of faith, and they were glad. The last line is interesting. What does it mean to see with an eye of faith? What does that look like? I think it means creating something, or imagining something happening before it does. If we do so, miracles will happen! What do you need to see with an eye of faith? Elder Curtis

Week 81: "Every Nation, Kindred, Tongue, And People"

Good morning everyone! (Unless it's not morning for you) it's elder curtis! Writing this email from the great white North. This week was probably the most success I've ever seen on my mission. We worked so hard and saw an insane amount of miracles. I want to share with you the top 3. Trust me there were about 20 more but these are the best ones. Coming in at #3 was the lesson we had with our friend Morgan on Thursday. Morgan has been struggling with the word of wisdom recently. He went far up north to visit his family for the holidays and fell off really horribly. His testimony was shaken and this lesson was a do-or-die. We had no idea what to teach him. So we decided to talk about receiving a witness to if the Book of Mormon was true, and what that would mean. We invited him to get on his knees right there with us and ask. He did, and he came up crying. He told us that he knew it was true. In his own words, "I can never leave now." #2 We were driving to an appoin...

Week 80: God Opens Doors

Image
hey everyone! P day got moved cause we went to the temple today, so thats why this email is late. God's been working in our area lately. Our friend Vivian was just baptized this last saturday. She was a media referral from Toronto missionaries. She kept every commitment that we gave her and was so excited to receive the gift of the Holy Ghost on sunday! I've loved working with her and seeing her spiritual growth. As I've served my mission, I've often noticed that I can get stuck in a rut, especially when thinking about different ways to find people to teach. So recently, me and Elder Pallo have been trying to get more creative! Since it's cold outside, I thought it'd be a good to get inside of apartment buildings and knock every door. the only problem is that here in edmonton, about every apartment building has locked doors. So we decided to pray outside of every building we plan to knock. I kid you not, some way or another, every single building we've trie...

Happy Surprise!

Dear Brother and Sister  Curtis ,        Thank you so much for the beautiful chocolate gift box with so many delicious snacks to choose from!  Your words of appreciation and well wishes mean more than you know.  It is our privilege to get to serve with Elder  Curtis . He is as fine a missionary and person as any parent or mission leader could ever hope for. I have never seen him be anything but positive, hardworking, and uplifting to other missionaries and members alike.  It is a joy to spend so much time with him as he helps lead the mission as an assistant.  He and his companions, Elder Arnold and Elder Pallo, have been inspired in the subjects in which they choose to train the mission and the way they present it. He has a way of correcting and encouraging that doesn’t make other missionaries feel like less. So, thanks for the treats but thank you even more for raising such a fine son and sharing him with us.  And thank you f...
