Semana 57: Questions

Hello all, welcome back to the weekly update from the great white North. This week didn't feel like we were very far North though, we had a heat wave here in Edmonton and our apartment doesn't have AC. So. . . (literally pov last night)

This week was probably the busiest of my mission. We had more meetings than I could count, 2 exchanges, and so many lessons. First exchange I went with good ol Elder McHoes on the west side of the city. We had a great time and talked about the importance of talking to literally everyone you see. He seemed quite fired up after the exchange so I considered it a success. Then we went on down to Red Deer. It's the most southern town in the mission so we went road trippin. Exchanged with elder strong, he's a good Elder. He speaks tagolag which is good cause there are a whole bunch of Philippinos for some reason in that town. We had a great time.

Saw some cool miracles this week... met Jackson and Esperance while we were driving through a neighborhood one day. We stopped the car and exchanged contact info. They didn't speak a word of English haha so when we set up the lesson we had to bring a member (the goat brother Freddy) and they loved it! Came to church on sunday and had a great time. I keep realizing more and more how diverse this area is. I think we didn't talk to any Canadians until Friday... and that was when we met Ashton and John! We taught them the restoration and they loved it. Before that lesson I was praying to be able to teach the restoration with more passion  and I felt the Spirit very strongly in that lesson! They committed to reading and praying

Questions
This week I have been absolutely blown away by the pure power of Questions. Questions are present in every aspect of our lives. We can bring questions to our friends, the cashier at McDonald's, our church leaders, and even random people on the street. Questions can be used to gather information (how much does this cost?) communicate concern (what can I do to help?) and to receive revelation (which church is the true church?). My new favorite question to ask people is.....

How do you think Another Testament of Jesus Christ (I hold up the Book of Mormon) could help your life?

I have never gotten the same answer from people. I invite you all to ask yourself that question. How can an additional witness of the Savior bless your life? It can, and it will. But only if you read it!

Chao,
Elder Curtis
