Semana 54: Canada Day
Hello all you fantastic people, how's it going? Hope everything is well with y'all!
We had zone conference last week, so we drove down to Edmonton. That's why I couldn't send an email last Monday, we were driving hahahaha.
This week was the fun week: we had Canada Day! Every July 1st across the great white North, the Canadians pull out their maple leaf hats, shirts, and memorabilia. And who would've thought, on Canada Day, no one wants to talk about Jesus. Like absolutely no one. Bummer. So we did service allllll day. it was kinda cool tho, we got to be in a parade. We volunteered to help out the latino association of Grande Prairie, and they let us carry the Canadian flag in the parade. So that was neat! Pics down below.
Tbh these past two weeks have been the most frustrating of my mission so far. I've been working so hard, with absolutely no fruit to show for it. I dont like complaining so I won't go into detail. Ive been contemplating the great examples of Book of Mormon missionaries like Alma, Ammon, and Amulek and found a pretty cool verse that's helped my attitude a bit:
"Now when our hearts were depressed, and we were about to turn back, behold, the Lord comforted us, and said: Go amongst thy brethren, the Lamanites, and bear with patience thine afflictions, and I will give unto you success."
Patience is hard for elder curtis. I guess I need some practice.
Chao,
Elder Curtis
