UN AÑO YA

This is the weirdest email I've ever sent. So um anyways. This is the 52nd email haha.

Real talk with Elder Curtis now, I've reflected a lot this week. One year as a missionary? How could it be? Time has flown. I can remember like it was yesterday, getting set apart. Now here I am, 52 weeks in.

To be completely honest this has been the hardest thing I've ever done. But I've been blessed a whole lot! I've learned the meaning of two things: Christlike courage, and Christlike love (spoiler alert: they go hand in hand). Courage means your willingness to go outside of your comfort zone. To do something that in a "normal" situation you would not do. Now this has been the #1 lesson on my mission this far. Why would anyone want to do something like that?

Well because of Christlike love. When you love someone and/or something as Christ does, you'll do exceptional things for them. You'll talk to them on the street. You'll knock on their car window. You'll knock on their front door. You'll sit next to them at a Tim Hortons and strike up a conversation. You'll randomly message them on facebook (Canada Edmonton Mission special). You'll do a million other crazy ridiculous silly awkward things because you know the reason why you do them! The reason is the message of the Restoration of the Gospel of Jesus Christ can help their lives. No matter if they're a 50 year old Canadian who's never left the Provence (his name is John) or a 25 year old Rwandan who has been here for about a week and literally has no friends (his name is Humble, Pic down below). The gospel will help them!

I can say that because it has transformed me. As I show faith, repent of my sins, renew my baptismal covenants, feel the Spirit, and endure to the end, I change. I have changed. I'm not the same.

I will never be the same.
