Semana 50: Ya Sabes La Rutina

This week was good! Found my new best friend Michael. We were walking down the street and a guy biked past us. I said oh wait hey you come back here and he came back. Crazy thing was, we made eye contact and I swear i had met this man before. Like there was some spiritual connection of some kind. We introduced ourselves and exchanged numbers. Later that week the number responds. It's his mom lol. She says who are you we say messangers of God and she's like ya perfect my son needs that here's his address he lives in a basement. So we go over and he's on his bike again and we give him a Book of Mormon and he's about it. About an hour ago (wrote this sunday night lol) we just taught him the rest of the restoration. He loved it! #talkwitheveryone

Then later we met Gilbert at the bus stop. He's from Kenya. My brotha in Christ. We taught him about the Book of Mormon and he said another testament ok. Well turns out he's living with our friend Armstrong who's on date... whaaaat? Milagros. He's coming to church next week. Let's go!

Lindsay is a native (native American) lady we met. She had a friend pass away recently in an awful way. But we shared some about the plan of salvation and how the Book of Mormon explains it and she was happy! She gave us both a big ol hug (ik it's against the standards but this lady was balling her eyes out) and said she'd reach out later.

All of these experiences have one important thing in common- the Book of Mormon! I've gained a real gratitude for this book. I'll share one, last, more interesting experience. We were visiting with an inactive lady named Beth. We were making some small talk and I began to bear my testimony on the reason I am here on my mission (my love for the Book of Mormon and my desire to share it with everyone) and she stopped me.
"Please don't talk about that book." She said.
I was a little confused.
"What do you mean?" "Why not the Book of Mormon?"
She didn't give me an answer, just said, "Just share with me something else, like another part of your message. I don't want to talk about that book."
In that moment, I felt the Spirit leave. I got up, shook the lady's hand and said, "I'm sorry, we cannot be here if we cannot talk about the Book of Mormon. That is our message." We prayed with her, and left.

The Book of Mormon truly is what makes our message unique! Any Christian can go around and teach about Jesus and His life. And that is a virtuous, good, noble thing to do. But what gives our message power, what will bring the the spirit more than anything else, are the 537 pages between 1 Nephi 1 and Moroni 10. I love the Book of Mormon. I hope all of you who read this email read it daily. When you do, you will make better decisions daily. I can promise you that in the name of Jesus Christ, amen.
