Week 45: Luchando Contra Todo

Good morning from the great white North, I hope you are all well. I'm doing just swell bc I'm finally done with my first Canadian winter jajaja gosh dang that was cold.

This week highlights:
-met a lady who is a Peruvian spaniard-italian (let me tell you that Accent is wack)
-met some more members up here on bear creek, man I sure do miss speaking Spanish all the time
-one of our most progressing friends dropped us in the Middle of sacrament meeting, it was so surprising I almost laughed out loud
-found out I have a strong predisposición towards kraft Mac and cheese
-my friend Carolina got baptized all the way down there in Lago Lindo! Yayaya
-discovered that we have roughly 400 inactive members in this ward and that sacrament meeting attendance is 23%
-found 5 new friends this week! (Honestly truly a miracle directly from heaven!)
-invited about 25 ppl to sacrament, one showed up
-started a ward basketball night with our friends

Yea so I guess something I learned again is that in the mission (and in life) there are going to be good weeks, bad weeks, and everything in between. I'd put this one in the in-between category fs fs jaja.

Spiritual thought

So i gave a talk in sacrament meeting on sunday about the Doctrine of Christ. Personally, I believe it's the most important thing that we teach! The Restoration is what restored the authority to make the last couple steps in the doctrine legitimate.

The Doctrine of Christ is the engine to God's plan of happiness (I.e. what we should do with our life on earth/agency) It was pretty sweet to see how my own understanding of the concepts were improved after vocalizing them. One of my favorite quotes I used was from Dale G Renlund in this last conference:

In particular, “enduring to the end” is not really a separate step in the doctrine of Christ—as though we complete the first four elements and then hunker down, grit our teeth, and wait to die. No, enduring to the end is repeatedly and literally applying the other elements of the doctrine of Christ, creating the “powerful virtuous cycle” that President Nelson described.

Just terrific stuff right there. Go read the talk! It's sweet.

Don't be a stranger. Shoot this Canadian a email! Love y'all.
