Week 44: When It Rains.....
So there I was....
Wednesday morning, elder ospina and I in our house, a tad nervous cause we don't want President to call us to give us transfer news. We just wanted one more together haha. Then President calls us (bruh).
"Hey elders how're you doing?"
"We're doing good President thank you"
"Yea ok I don't wanna waste your time so elder Ospina you are staying in Río Vista, and elder Curtis?"
"Yea?"
"You're going to Grande Prairie to be zone leader with elder Osborn."
"<silence. I really didn't know what to say>"
"Alrighty then see you soon."
Hangs up
So yea. I got moved out of spanish and drop kicked up 5 hours north to the true great white North, the terrific town of Grande Prairie, population 30,000. Go look it up on google maps haha. There is no spanish unit up here (at least not right now) and if I'm being completely honest the work is a good bit slower up here. But the beautiful thing about that is that it absolutely does not matter because elder Osborn and I are missionaries sent from God so things are about to turn around up here!
Biggest miracle gotta be Harold and his family. I was kinda nervous to come up here cause I've heard english work is a lot different than spanish and it's a lot harder to find. So I was reading PMG chapter 9 in my personal study (talks all about finding people to teach) and it talks a lot about using your talents to serve in the area you are. I thought, "well golly I know spanish, I ought to find some latinos up here." Enter Harold and his fam. I found him on facebook and went over to his house. We chatted and guess what? He's from Columbia, literally best south american country and they are so elect. They're kinda lonely up here cause there's casi no latinos in GP so we bonded fast. They love the BOM and are going to read it! Yaya. First 24 hours up here have been lit.
I miss Rio vista, Elder ospina, and all my friends out there but I am very excited for the future. There is some awesome potential here.
️Spiritual thought
Gonna go with a banger this week, all time favs:
Alma 26:16 "Therefore, let us glory, yea, we will glory in the Lord; yea, we will rejoice, for our joy is full; yea, we will praise our God forever. Behold, who can glory too much in the Lord? Yea, who can say too much of his great power, and of his mercy, and of his long-suffering towards the children of men? Behold, I say unto you, I cannot say the smallest part which I feel."
Gotta say, I'm really in misson mode. I can't imagine life without it. I can't imagine myself without it. I have been changed forever by the Lord. I cannot say the smallest part which I feel.
Love you all. Thank you so much for the birthday wishes. They meant the world to me!
Adiós,
Elder Curtis
