Week 15: Transfers, Hello New Friends, Bye Old Friends

Hello everyone! I hope everyone has been well. Here in Canada, things are just swell.

Well first transfer is in the books. It's been a whirlwind. We've been able to have some success, been able to baptize, but I know we can do better. This next transfer is going to be awesome! In other news, PLOT TWIST: We have a new companion! His name is Elder Seely. He's from southern Alberta (which apparently, is Very, Very different than northern Alberta, unbeknownst to me) and he's waiting to get his plane ticket to Costa Rica, his original assignment. This elder is also now my running buddy! So awesome, gotta get those miles in. He seems motivated, so me, him, and Elder Garibaldi are gonna go to work here in Lago Lindo.

I had exchanges this week with Elder Tsai! He came to the Spanish area and we were able to teach a lesson, find someone, and go to dinner. Elder Tsai is a Stellar missionary; he's a convert who is twenty fire and got baptized two years ago. He wanted to bear his testimony in the lesson, so I was able to translate for him. Really gave me a testimony of the gift of tongues! (He's from Taiwan and learning english) the spirit speaks every language. Sadly, my dear Elder Tsai is leaving. It came as a huge shock to everyone in the apartment, but that's just how transfers work. This also means that we will have to cook for ourselves now (a scary thought). That's gonna be a skill I have to aquire up here.

On the flip side, we have another Elder in the apartment! His name is Elder Vital and he's from Brazil (shout-out to all my Brazilian elders down there). He's gotta be the most smiley Elder to ever go on a mission. I've never seen him not have a smile over these past 5 days, so it's looking like this transfer is gonna be awesome!

Miracles:
Hno Salas got a job! He'd been looking for one for the last month and a half. Funny coincidence, he was reactivated a month and a half ago. . . All I'm saying is the church is true!
PeƱas
Love this family. They have been coming to church every Sunday since we've taught them. Didn't get to have a lesson with them this week, but they came to stake conference. In English. Most elect family ever! We will baptize them, and I'll keep you all posted.

Funny things:
Not really Funny but we had a lesson with Alexander and we talked about the fall of Adam and Eve.  He had a really hard time understanding the concept and it felt like a waste of time, but I testified and invited him to read 2 nefi 2. Oh well!
A crazy indian/native/first nation shaman guy started yelling at us about how the "gods" are angry at us for Stealing the land, and how our fathers think we are cowards. Sorry dad! Wish I'd gotten a picture. There are plenty of people like that in Edmonton.

Spiritual thought
Enduring to the end
Nike said it best: "Just Do It." We have to keep doing the little things consistently to feel the power of the spirit.

That's all folks!
