Week 96: La Semana Santa

Howdy y'all, this week was so good!!!! We were able to give 2 baptismal dates this week, one to my friend jahir from Peru, i found him about 18 months ago and have tried to stay in contact with him ever since. He's coming back to Edmonton in 2 weeks and wants to be baptized then! Whaaaa hooooo!  Then at our easter service one of our recent converts invited a Chilean family to come to church and they did #cachai They really liked it and then were gonna have an FHE tonight with them!  Then at that same easter service one of our other member referrals came up to us and said, "ok I want to be baptized." Booom right there we gave her a date and she was so excited! #vivamexico Once again I think I said this in my last email but I feel like all of our hard work over the last 12 weeks is coming to fruition! We have been giving this area our maximum effort with no baptisms yet but I know the Lord has big things in store for Rio Vista! Everything seems to be falling into place....

Week 95: God Is Good

Howdy y'all, another fantastic week in the great white north So we've been working super hard to get our friends to church for the last 2 transfers haha and finally we had a lot come! Lilianna Alex Aaron Jhon Egleida and Bryan all came and loved it! The best part is 3 of them are member referals We've been having on average 2 member lessons a day inviting encouraging and exporting members to share the gospel and all the hard work is paying off. His name is Nash from Ghana and we shared a message and invited him to come to church, and he said yes and he'd bring his 5 friends! And his sister cooked us some gas African food. We had to pass him off to the english missionaries but still pretty sick. I love missionary life! It's so simple: wake up, work out, study the scriptures, go outside and talk to people ab...

Week 92: Ya Viene Primavera Ya Porfa

So it snowed again. Here i was thinking spring was here  Our friends Liliana and Alex came to church this sunday! It was so cool cause this was their 2nd time and they already know everyone in the ward. #RioVistaontop The members here are so good, we bring someone new to church and they basically grab them and force them to sit next to them (in the nicest latino way possible) Then a member of the bishopric brought his inactive sister and his non member husband named Bryan (doesn't speak spanish but we still gonna teach him) we've got an appointment with him next Tuesday! Hurray Other than that very normal week. A lot of rejection but a lot of good lessons.  SPIRITUAL THOUGHT I've had some great personal studies lately. Most recently about faith in Jesus Christ. I think it's the least complicated principle that we teach people, (or learn about in the church) yet the most difficult to put into practice. Now, twoscriptures/quotes you've probably heard before: Alma 32:2...
